Wahay! as my mum use to say. England have not only won the Ashes, but won the series 3-1 with yet another innings victory. This is the first time England have won the Ashes in Australia for 24 years and is down in no small part to the below average team Australia put out to play.
Memories from the tour for me:
- Alastair Cook’s mammoth 235 (and series total of 766 runs)
- The Sprinkler dance (shown above, and Johnathan Agnew here)
- Collingwood’s catch to remove Ponting (video)
Well done to the lads – the last time we were down under the Australians handed us a 5-0 whitewash so it feels good as a fan to go back and hand them a pasting.
